Leads the construction planning business reporting to CEO and PDSI board. Full P&L responsibility and strategic direction with offices in Kent & Majorca. Leadership of senior management team, profitable growth and expansion of service offering which extends through construction, 3D BIM and construction disputes in EOT and forensic planning.
Experience
In addition to business leadership day to day involvement in key client accounts and rolling programme of construction dispute resolution assignments. Project examples:
St Barts and the London Hospitals (c£1b) – DM, as part of the PFI arrangement designed management on the rebuild of part of St Barts and the new construction of the London Hospitals;
St. Pancras Hotel (c£120m) – DM, redevelopment of iconic Grade I listed hotel in heart of London;

Executive Leadership responsibilities

Established the PDSI Group in 2006 to build an infrastructure and construction consulting business, acquiring privately owned Queensborough Project Managers (PM) followed by JS Projects in 2009 (QS) and Profile Construction Consultants in 2012 (Planners) and Initiate Consulting in 2017 (Infrastructure PM/QS), all trading for over 25 years.
Setting the environment and building a team that is truly aligned to the needs of the client. Ultimately, the purpose of engaging a consultant is to utilise their knowledge and expertise to improve client profitability through either increasing revenues, growing margin, or reducing costs.
Full P&L responsibility for the businesses and its strategic development to an agreed plan within the PDSI Group, responsible for project and program management and cost consulting services in Transport and Infrastructure, notably for TfL, Network Rail, Urban Growth Company, AWE, Aviation, DfT and for project management and QS services within the private sector.
Experience
With 40 years of experience as a business leader heading up business operations and client portfolios including a number of multi-million-pound contracts. Boasting a long and distinguished career in construction, being director and managing director of well-known construction businesses and property developers. He started his career with Trollope and Colls, progressing through to site manager, joined John Lelliott, where he worked up to Group Construction Director and after a period with Bovis became MD of Bowmer and Kirkland. Previous experience includes major fit outs for Glaxo BP residential projects (650 units in Greenwich) and major data centres in Amsterdam, London and Paris.
Key Roles
As an established professional, Ian is well known with TfL as a Strategic Director, working most recently on the now completed Northern Line Extension and the early optioneering stages of a major Bakerloo Line extension. His main roles currently sit with:
Urban Growth Company – Head of Programme Delivery for the Arden Cross development; and
AWE – Delivery Director.
A Member of Paviors Livery Company (Master in 2016), and involved in initiatives that support young people with a passion for construction through education, practical work-experience and employment-brokerage, including the Construction Youth Trust (CYT), and remains involved in the London Construction Liveries Group.
